homemade Cinnamon Roll
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
For the Filling:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
For the Icing:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll up the dough tightly and cut into 12 rolls. Place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover and let rise for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden. Mix icing ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls.
