homemade Cinnamon Roll

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

For the Icing:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  3. Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Roll up the dough tightly and cut into 12 rolls. Place in a greased baking dish.
  5. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden. Mix icing ingredients and drizzle over warm rolls.
